Fabian Reppel
Fabian Reppel served as the head gardener at Schatzalp for five years and has been the new garden director since 2025. At just 38 years old, he belongs to a young generation of dedicated gardeners.
His professional background includes positions at the Loki Schmidt Botanical Garden in Hamburg, the medicinal herb farm “El arca de las hierbas” in Costa Rica, and the Piepereit plant centre, along with a degree from Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University. This diverse experience equips him with extensive knowledge and the ability to deliver well-founded presentations.
Martin Schneebeli
Martin Schneebeli is the president of Alpinum Schatzalp and has returned to his first love—plants and plant communities—after many years in snow research.
He works independently on biodiversity projects and is furthering his studies in field botany at ZHAW. He is also a contributor to the citizen science project Flora Raetica.
Andrea Birkhofer
Andrea Birkhofer is a graphic designer and illustrator. She enjoys painting in the mountain landscape of Davos.
In 2025, she commenced a three-year training programme in botanical illustration at ZHAW Wädenswil. She is actively involved with the Botanical Garden Schatzalp.
